Wonder Cement honoured for supporting Anganwari Centres

To recognize the effort of Wonder Cement, a RK Group company, Government of Rajasthan recently honoured the company at the function held in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. Wonder Cement Ltd. has renovated and refurbished 10 Anganwari Centres and provided educational support material to 2000 students under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

Director of Women & Child Development Department, Government of Rajasthan Dr. Samit Sharma and District Collector Inderjeet Singh honoured Nitin Jain, AVP (Commercial), Wonder Cement Ltd. for refurbishing Anganwari Centres (Government Day Care Centre) on the occasion of review meeting held at Chittorgarh. Dr. Samit Sharma, Director, ICDS appreciated Wonder Cement for its various initiatives to improve functioning of these Aanganwari centres.

Nitin Jain, AVP (Commercial), Wonder Cement Ltd said that these Anganwari centres are situated in nearby villages of Nimbahera plant. “During the renovation these building have been completely painted and child centred art work is done on the walls of study room. Minor repairing and water proofing was also done at required centres,” he added.

The company has provided solar fans, chairs, seesaw rocker, slide ladder, building blocks, abacus, English & Hindi alphabets, charts, bowling alley etc. equipment for pre-school learning toys for children. Wonder Cement also supported for dresses and bags of 1000 students in Panchayat Samiti, Nimbahera. It has carried various activities for enabling communities residing in nearby villages.

Wonder Cement is a part of the RK Group, which has the distinction of being one of the leading names in the marble industry. The cement plant, located in Nimbahera, District Chittorgarh, in Rajasthan, has a capacity to produce 6.75 Million Tons per year. The cement produced from this plant, which has been set up with highly advanced technology, is at par with international standards.
