The Department of Food and Agricultural Process Engineering, Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) organised three days workshop of All India Coordinated Research Project on ‘Post Harvest Engineering and Technology’ during 4-6 January, 2016. About over 100 agriculture scientists participated in the workshop.

In his address to the scientist community, Dr. K Ramasamy, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU, Coimbatore emphasised that value addition is the best way to minimise post harvest loss .He cited examples of processing methods developed by TNAU.

Dr. K Alagusundaram, Deputy Director General, Agriculture Engineering, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), insisted on the consortium or value chain mode of research rather than the conventional mode which will facilitate the delivery of benefits to farmers immediately.
