Sohan Lal Commodity Management (SLCM), one of India’s leading service providers in the global post-harvest domain for agricultural commodities, has received NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories) accreditation for its ground-breaking AI ML QC application, which falls under its Patented Process Management system “Agri Reach.” This is the first time in NABL history that a mobile app has been NABL certified.
The Agri Reach app puts the power of recent agricultural scientific advancements in the hands of everyday smartphone users. People in rural India are taking advantage of the benefits of this application. It has been used to inspect 21.59 lakh metric tonnes of food grains at 303 locations across 17 states in just two months since its launch.
It is as simple as taking a picture to use this AI ML QC module smartphone application to conduct a quality check of agricultural commodities. With a single click and submission to the app, the image will be analysed for a variety of quality metrics. The user will then receive a quality report detailing the photographic evidence’s evaluation on specifications such as damaged, shrunken, shrivelled, or immature grains, foreign matter, and a variety of other physical parameters such as the commodity’s height, length, grid, colour, and pattern. The results are automatically compared with pre-fed data in the back-end system, which updates itself on a regular basis by combining artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) with the Python programming language.
Speaking on the NABL accreditation, Sandeep Sabharwal, Group CEO, SLCM Group, said, “Over a decade ago, we envisioned ‘phygitalising’ (physical + digital infrastructure) the warehouse management system. SLCM developed ‘Agri Reach,’ a system that enables effective warehousing solutions independent of infrastructure, geography, and crops, with the help of a dedicated team of professionals. We are the only company in the Indian agriculture sector that has registered a technology patent in the agri-logistics (warehousing) segment and I am proud to say that we have reaffirmed our leadership status by being the first and only company in this space to receive the coveted NABL accreditation for an application that will transform the way the agri industry assays the quality of its commodities.”
Furthermore, SLCM has recently added new proprietary solutions to its product line under the ‘Agri Reach’ umbrella, such as ‘Agri Suraksha,’ which enables real-time remote audio-visual monitoring of storage facilities that hold commodities, whether the commodities are kept inside a godown or out in the open.
