SATHI Does Clean India with SBF

To strengthen ‘Clean India’ drive, Social Action Through Integrated Network (SATHI) has launched Swatch Bharat Force (SBF). SATHI works with voluntary organisations working for the upliftment of general masses. Mridula Sinha, Goa’s incumbent Governor, is the president of SATHI.

Under the initiative, SBF will be built from village to state level. "The organising member at every level will be called SATHI SBF commander and will work according to the district level committee. The organisation will coordinate with people and officials to make India clean," said Srinivasa Reddy, South India Incharge at SATHI.

In the first phase, the initiative will be launched in Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, Warangal and Nalgonda in Telangana, Karur, Kanyakumari and Madurai in Tamil Nadu, Hubli in Karnataka and in Union Territories of Puducherry and Goa.

Reddy said the second phase of the SBF initiative will be implemented in all districts of these states and Union Territories.

He further added, "Goa’s Governor Mridula Sinha, who is committed to build healthy and wealthy rural India, will monitor the programme and guide the SBF to realise the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi."
