The RMAI (Rural Marketing Association of India) Flame Awards 2014 felicitated India’s top performing companies for their marketing and promotion efforts in the rural market. The annual event was hosted by RMAI at Vivanta by Taj, Dwarka, New Delhi, yesterday.

Rural & Marketing, an i9 Media initiative, bagged the much-deserved recognition and won the bronze for “Rural Research & Publications”.

Commenting on the achievement, Ajay Adlakha, Editor-in-Chief, Rural & Marketing, said, “This is a matter of prestige for us and it energises our young team. We are extremely proud to receive this honour by winning the award for our publication focusses on India’s hinterland.”

“Rural markets are growing faster than urban and the current decade will see rural emerge as the major growth driver for the Indian economy,” he added.

It was a venerable gathering of who’s who of the industry like Pradeep Kashyap, Founder and CEO, MART; Sanjay Panigrahi, CEO, Sahaj e-Village; Raj Kumar Jha; and many more.

RMAI instituted the Flame Awards in 2006 – previously known as the RMAI Corporate Awards – to recognise excellence in marketing, promotion and initiatives in rural markets of the country. This platform also enables rural practitioners and marketers to showcase and share their best works in rural domain.

A highly experienced jury from diverse industry sector judged the entries.
