Founded in 2005 by 13 visionaries of rural marketing and communication, the association now have more than 150 corporate and individual members

Rural Marketing Association of India completes 15 Years

Rural Marketing Association of India (RMAI), the national body of rural marketers, celebrated its 15 Years of establishment on January 24, 2020 in New Delhi.

The association was founded on January 25, 2005, as ‘The Rural Marketing Agencies Association of India’ in Chennai, when 13 leading minds of the sector decided to come together on a common platform and work towards recognition, credibility and meeting of needs of the rural marketing industry, and later changed its name to Rural Marketing Association of India on July 9, 2008.

Over the period, RMAI has established itself as a major knowledge platform for the rural fraternity. It has successfully launched and maintaining knowledge based properties like Rural Conclave, FLAME Awards Asia, Rural dot Digital, Flame Student Awards, FLAME Leadership Awards and many more.
Highlighting about the journey of the association, Biswabaran Chakrabarti, President, Rural Marketing Association of India, “It is a very proud moment for us to achieve this milestone and throughout this journey, we have grown every year and spread our network not just across the country, but also expanded our footprints to some of our neighbouring countries like Nepal and Bangladesh.”

Speaking on the occasion RV Rajan, founder president, RMAI said, “I am proud to have been one of the founders of this dynamic industry body which has crossed an important milestone this year. I congratulate the current president and his team for celebrating the event. I wish all the best to everyone for taking RMAI to even greater heights.”

“15 years back a handful of us were passionate and had a dream. This was the genesis of RMAI. Today it is a reality, a highly respected industry body representing agencies and corporates involved in rural marketing,” said Pradeep Kashyap, one of the founding members, and founder, MART Rural, who is also known as pioneer of rural marketing in India.

One of the founder members and former president of the association, Sanjay Kaul,  CEO, Impact Communications said, “It’s a proud moment for me to be part of founding team of RMAI. My heartiest congratulations to the association for a great job in propagating cause and knowledge of rural marketing in India”.
