Talking about innovation in agriculture, various programmes have been launched to bring the best deal forward for crop cultivation. In farming, focus has been shift towards rural innovations in various spheres.The idea to call for a innovation centre in various places in country to help farmers to yield better.
In Orissa the government has introduced programmes every three month to encourage innovators to present their new techniques in farming. Like wise in the rest part of the country around thousands of entrepreneurs,too, are encouraged and given a platform to make farming business the best beneficial one.
Like wise, Harish Hande, Managing Director of Selco India Ltd. suggested that the district set up a rural innovation centre. Stating that a lot of innovation is happening in rural areas of the country, he said rural Karnataka has produced a good number of innovative ideas in various spheres. However, many of these innovators did not go in for marketing their ideas.
An innovation centre will help in agriculture, water conservation, rural business models and technologies. B Ramanatha Rai, Minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada district, said the district administration is ready to extend all the help, including the land, for establishing such an innovation centre in the district.
Around 250 companies, including some from Gulf countries, have shown interest in the innovation centre scheme. With an idea that in coming year it is going to be beneficial to farmers as well as nation productivity.
