Reckitt Benckiser India, manufacturer of Dettol soap and Harpic toilet cleaner, is all set to launch few more low-cost hygiene and sanitation products. The move is more in line to capitalise the Swachh Bharat campaign started by the Narendra Modi government.
A germ protection bar and a multi-purpose bathroom cleaner in powder form is said to comprise the new product range by the company.
Global CEO Rakesh Kapoor, said that it is the first time Reckitt Benckiser has developed and tested products for bottom of the pyramid consumers. According to Kapoor, they are the most discerning customers.
"By 2025, more than half the world’s population will have joined the consuming classes, driving annual consumption in emerging markets to $30 trillion," Kapoor opined in a statement.
