The total area sown under Rabi crops as on December 11, 2015 stood at 442.33 lakh hectares (lh), lower than 486.69 lh sown in the same period last year, according to preliminary reports received from the States by the Agriculture Ministry.

Wheat has been sown/transplanted in 202.28 lakh hectares, pulses in 114.51 lakh hectare and coarse cereals in 48.92 lakh hectares.

Area sown under oilseeds is 65.68 lakh hectares and Rice is 10.94 lakh hectares.
