Punjab Vidhan Sabha is going to organize a three-day agricultural workshop in association with UK-based Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA). It will start from October 29. CPA is a group of 54 member countries, and India is an integral part of this group.
An official spokesman of Punjab Vidhan Sabha said that delegates from the members of CPA and Asian region, including India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Maldives, Malaysia and Zimbabwe will participate in the workshop.
Inaugural address of workshop will be delivered by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on October 29.
Speakers from other states, parliamentarians and agriculture experts would also be taking part in the workshop, remarked the spokesman.
He further added, the aim of the workshop is to give a big push to parliamentary agriculture committees and hold discussions on current issues pertaining to peasantry and agriculture.
