NWDA completes pre-feasibility reports for five river interlinking projects

After Government of Bihar’s proposal to the Union Ministry of Water Resources and River Development, the National Water Development Agency (NWDA) has completed the pre-feasibility reports of five river interlinking projects in the State. The agency will now prepare the feasibility reports of the projects.

If the projects go on right direction, this will be possible to link Manas-Sankosh-Tista-Ganga, Koshi-Mechi, Koshi-Ghaghara, Chunar-Sone Barrage and Sone Dam-Southern Tributaries of Ganga link. These projects will help equally distribute the water in the State and will boost the irrigation system.

Nine intra-state link proposals were received from Bihar and pre-feasibility report of five links have already been completed. NWDA has completed detailed project report of two Intra-State links of Burhi Gandak-Noon-Baya-Ganga and Koshi-Mechi link.
