NTPC, the third largest power company in terms of coal based power generation capacity, today said that it follows vision of ‘Low cost Low emission’ to maintain its position as a leader in the sector.

“NTPC is creating additional carbon sinks by planting one crore saplings during this financial year and the upcoming Telengana Thermal Power Project shall be most modern complying with the latest environment norms,” NTPC CMD Gurdeep Singh said while addressing the employees on the occasion of 41st Raising Day of the Company at Noida today. 2016

He also shared the new vision and core values of the company on the occasion. The company aspires to be the world’s leading power company to energise India’s growth. According to the CMD Core Values are ‘ICOMIT’ which stands for Integrity ,Customer focus, Organisational pride, Mutual respect and Trust, Innovation and Learning, Total quality and Safety.

Singh unfurled the NTPC flag and addressed all employees of the company at Engineering Office Complex at Noida and the same was being projected through web-cast across all Stations,Pojects,Regions and Subsidiaries. All the functional Directors of the company AK Jha, Director(Technical), SC Pandey,Director(Projects), KK Sharma,Director(Operations),K Biswal, Director(Finance), and S Roy,Director (HR) were present on the occasion

Singh stressed on NTPC being a learning organization for better company and individual performance. Speaking about Environment Management he said, “NTPC has to ensure minimum impact on the environment from its power stations and carry forward the slogan " Low cost Low emission” to maintain its position as a leader in the sector.

He spoke about efforts of NTPC’s to bring down energy charges by stopping import of coal , ensuring better quality coal through third party sampling and coal rationalization. Expressing his faith in the improvement of health of the Discoms with introduction of UDAY scheme of Govt. of India, the CMD said the demand for power will increase in near future.

Inclusion of safety as a Core Values is to ensure safe practices in all areas of Company’s operations, he said. He appreciated Team NTPC’s efforts for achieving highest generation on 9th September, 2016 , performance of Koldam Hydro project, start of work at Pakhri Barwadih coal mine, for being the first company to issue Masala bonds, Consultancy Wing for providing services to nearly 18000 MW projects in the country and construction of toilets for Swachch Bharat campaign under CSR.
