NABARD inks MoU with Tata Trusts

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has signed an MoU with Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT) and Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT) for collaboration in implementation of development programmes aimed at socio economic upliftment of resource poor regions and communities.

The two Tata trusts have joined hands with NABARD to work for the welfare of poor across India and evolve successful models of development. The MoU was signed by SDTT’s Executive Trustee R Venkataramanan and NABARD’s Chief General Manager P Radhakrishnan.

"With this MoU, we will join hands with NABARD to work for the welfare of poor people across India and also evolve successful models of development," said Ratan Tata, SDIT Chairman, who was present at the signing ceremony.

Harsh Kumar Bhanwala, Chairman, NABARD, said,"This is a milestone arrangement and will help in convergence of other corporate CSR activities to emulate such models. Joining of corporates will provide two-way audit of the developmental works. The MoU will also help imbibe corporate empathy for development and improve ground level delivery."
