The famous litchi from Muzaffarpur, Bihar is just a call away in many cities. With a minimum order of Rs 500, a customer can get delivery of litchis at his doorstep. He just needs to make call to Khushigram, a non-profit-organisation.
Despite the adverse weather conditions which affected the crop, Khushigram has partnered with a group to supply, promote and market the produce across India.
“We are marketing the produce in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, various towns of Uttar Pardesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and some other parts of the country till the end of the season,” Ajit Kumar, founder, Khushigram says.
Khushigram procures litchis directly from farmers with the help of its partner agencies. The organisation claims to have proposals from some leading multi-brand retail chains for its distribution and expects to procure two tonnes fruit per day.
“We are also focusing on mango. Apricot juice, mushroom, makhana (fox nut) and other food items will also be added in coming weeks,” Kumar further informed.
