Jaitley meets farmers delegation on land bill

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley met several farmers’ delegation representing different stakeholders and over 30 organisations from across India.

The team of representatives led by former BJP Kisan Morcha leader and Advisor of DD Kisan channel, Naresh Sirohi presented the farmers’ views to Jaitley.

In the meeting, the farmers’ delegation demanded to bring back the consent clause in the land bill. The Finance Minister assured the delegation that their suggestions would be looked into suitably and that their interests would not be ignored. He then asked Sirohi to look into the issues and suggestions made by the representatives on matters related to the Land Bill and submit a report to him.

Sirohi said that the Finance Minister has constituted a committee of 5-6 persons, which will record the suggestions of farmers on land bill, and present them in future interactions.
