
In April, India’s rural subscriber base grew 1.15% to 3.88 million over the previous month, taking the total base to 341.53 million. Sunil Mittal-driven Bharti Airtel added 1.30 million rural subscribers in April 2015, followed by Idea Cellular (1.21 million) and Vodafone India (0.84 million), telecom lobby group Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) in a statement said.
Bihar telecom circle added a maximum of 0.62 million connections in April, the telecom group said.
Bharti Airtel continues to be a leader in rural connectivity with 108.91 million user base, followed by Vodafone India (98.75 million).
