Every state is trying their level best to provide their people with best of facilities and bring out ways for rural to develop. Education, health, employment have always been the major core need for the development.And for the State like Odisha where rural population according to 2011 census is 3,49,70,562, the government strictly plan up schemes where the major cores are fulfilled.
Keeping in mind this, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the Government would soon launch a Rural BPO Scheme to provide employment opportunities to youths close to their hometowns. The call centres with 5,000-10,000 seats would be established in all Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) locations in Odisha.
Currently, there are four STPIs at Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Rourkela and Balasore while six more at Jajpur, Sambalpur, Jeypore, Angul and Bhawanipatna are in the offing. The Chief Minister also said the Government was focusing on providing endto- end dedicated broadband internet services in next three years for seamless transactions of Government services. naugurating the TCS Kalinga Phase II Park here, he aid there has been tremendous rowth of IT industries in the State in the last decade with growth of IT exports surpassing the national ratefor several years.
Making concerted efforts to turn Odisha into the leading IT destination of the country, the Government has rolled out Industrial Policy Resolution- 015 and ICT Policy- 2014 that provide for ease of doing business along with attractive fiscal incentives and concessions. “We have made policy provisions to spend around `4,000 crore from the State Budget in next five years towards IT/ITES and ESDM by earmarking two per cent of the plan budget and one per cent of the total budget of very department. Odisha is the first State in the country to have signed an MoU with TiE, Silicon Valley to attract foreign industry under ESDM sector,” the CM said. The second phase expansion of TCS Kalinga Park has enhanced the capacity to 4000 seats.
