The Ladies’ Wing of IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with the Bajaj Group announced the opening of nomination for its flagship award programme, Jankidevi Bajaj Puraskar. The award will felicitate and acknowledge the contribution of an Indian woman entrepreneur who has contributed to the field of rural business and entrepreneurial development. The winner will receive a cash prize of INR 1 million and a certificate along with a citation.
IMC-Ladies’ Wing Jankidevi Bajaj Puraskar aims to recognise, promote, support and honour women entrepreneurs working to improve living conditions in rural India. Nominations are welcomed from candidates from across the country who have moved the needle to make a difference in rural India. The last date for submitting nominations is September 30, 2022.
While the awards focus on initiatives for upliftment in rural areas, last year in lieu of the Covid-19 pandemic, the wing had decided to award the 28th IMC-Ladies’ Wing Jankidevi Bajaj Puraskar 2021 to an Indian woman who was also a Covid warrior. Announced in January this year, the 28th award was presented to Durga Mallu Gudilu (Trustee, Anum Foundation and a Social Activist) who collected funds to provide rations as well as distribute medicines and other essential supplies to 10,000 families during the pandemic.
