In order to explore opportunities for future collaborations for agricultural growth and development, a meeting between Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) and National Commodity Boards (NCBs) officials was held under the chairmanship of Dr S Ayyappan, Secretary (DARE) & Director General, ICAR in New Delhi.
This meeting was attended by the senior ICAR officials and the representatives of various National Commodity Boards.
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) through its extensive network of National Institutes, National Research Centres, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) offered partnership to the NCBs for R&D activities in specific areas covering all major disciplines of agricultural sciences. The ICAR network and NCBs will work in a collaborative mode towards dissemination of improved agricultural technologies to the farmers in the country; provide assistance for industrial training of UG and PG students and other areas of common interest were identified. The modalities for such collaborations will be developed through Memorandum of Understanding between ICAR and NCBs.
The partnership will pave ways for a successful collaboration between ICAR and NCBs for agricultural research and development in the country.
