In the wake of climate change and its impact on food security and to prepare the agriculture practices for such a situation, the Standing Committee on Agriculture to invite suggestions from the experts, individuals, institutions, organisations and other stakeholders.

The Committee, under the Chairmanship of the Member of Parliament, Hukm Deo Narayan Yadav to invite memoranda containing views and suggestions of on the issues such as need to evolve new varieties of crops which can withstand climatic fluctuation; requirement to evolve improved methods of irrigation; need to popularise consumption of crops/fruits which can provide better nutrition; need to develop indigenous verities of cattle that can withstand extreme climatic stress; need to develop system for precision horticulture and protected cultivation; diversification of species of fish to enhance production from fisheries sector; need to strengthen agriculture extension system ; focus on agriculture education among other issues.

Those desirous of submitting memorandum may send two copies thereof, either in Hindi or English to The Director (R&A), Lok Sabha Secretariat within three weeks.
