Facebook Interaction Agri Minister assures positive change

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh said that Central Government is determined to bring a positive change in the lives of farmers and the Ministry of Agriculture is taking all efforts to achieve the goal.

Talking to reporters after a live interaction with people through Facebook, the Minister said that the interaction was meaningful and questions were reasonable. People drew his attention towards some pain points of the farmers this to the media today here after having a live question & answers session on Facebook.

Earlier, during the interaction session, Pawan Sharma asked “ Sir livestock is very important for farmers, but in India Veterinary Department is not developed as foreign countries.Can we expect this development from Modi government? Can Veterinary doctors expect their importance? Will they be same as medical doctors? And sir development of livestock farming can reduce sucide cases of farmers.

Sharma’s concern was well taken by the Minister as he responded saying, “ GOI is also assisting the state governments to supplement their efforts for strengthening of veterinary infrastructure to provide proper veterinary healthcare.”

Singh said that people from all parts of the country asked agriculture related questions. The Minister answered the queries to the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and the process of applying, organic farming, and progress related to Soil Health Cards in the States, FDI in Livestock, Agro product and startup. There were queries related to employment opportunities in the sector. There was one complaint also that ICAR is not providing enough employment opportunities to even those with Ph.D in agriculture and allied subjects.

About agriculture education and employment, Singh said that the government was paying adequate attention on these two issues. He added that awareness is on rise regarding agriculture.

Singh said that a live chat like this leads benefit to agriculture students, agriculture scientists, agriculture traders, professionals as well as star-ups and conveyed that farmers were taking help from their kids and relative in asking questions today.

The Minister said that through direct conversation, one comes to know the kind of activities taking place in different regions of the country related to agricultural sector and what is the progress of Central schemes. Through these queries, the task performed by the States is also reviewed, as the implementation of Central schemes is carried through the assistance of the states. Singh said that he would continue to have Facebook live chats with all stakeholders.
