An inter-governmental agreement on the field of agriculture between India and Armenia will promote cooperation through short and medium term programmes, within the framework of the joint activities. The Biennial Work Plan will be drawn up by mutual agreement between the both countries to give effect to the objectives of the agreement.
The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for signing and ratification of the agreement between both countries, on cooperation in the field of agriculture.
The agreement will provide for a Joint Working Group (JWG) for agricultural cooperation which will be responsible for elaborating Biennial Work Plans. The JWG will identify areas and forms of cooperation, and will coordinate their implementation. The Group will meet periodically and alternatively in India and Armenia.
The agreement will promote understanding of best agricultural practices in the two countries and will be mutually beneficial.
