To set up a skill development university in Bihar, a committee has been constituted. The committee will suggest the initiatives to scale up and synergize the efforts towards skill development of the youth in the region.
In a reply in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, there are 12,106 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) operational under the Directorate General of Training (DGT) which are the primary institutions for skilling the youth.
Besides, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is also functioning as a public-private-partnership entity to promote private training providers to set up skill development centres across the country. As on 30th June, 2015, the 211 NSDC affiliated training partners, have 3,669 operational training centres, including 745 mobile centres with coverage across the country, the minister said.
