Agritech startup, TartanSense rebrands as Niqo Robotics to commercialise AI-powered robotics for agriculture

Agritech startup TartanSense has rebranded as Niqo Robotics. The rebranding comes on the heels of the company launching its proprietary ‘green on green’ AI spot spray robots in India. With a fleet size of 50 units, this will be a leading commercial deployment of AI (artificial intelligence) powered robotic sprayers for agriculture. Niqo’s proprietary ‘green on green’ tech leverages real-time AI-assisted computer vision to selectively spray chemicals on plants resulting in up to 60 per cent chemical and water savings.

Niqo Robotics aims to disrupt traditional farming methods by pioneering an AI-powered robotics revolution in agriculture. The new brand identity embodies the company’s revolutionary spirit. The name Niqo is derived from the Greek word “Nikolaos,” which means Victory of the People. The victory flag in the logo represents the brand’s goal of liberating the farming ecosystem from unreliable labour availability and unsustainable farming practices. Niqo intends to accomplish this by scientifically applying AI-powered robotics to all major farming activities such as sowing, spraying, and harvesting.

Elaborating on the rebranding, Jaisimha Rao, CEO and Founder Niqo Robotics said, “It took many years of innovation, frugal engineering, and rigorous testing to get from lab to land. The rebranding could not have happened at a better time. We need a strong identity that can boldly carry us into this exciting future as we prepare to launch the world’s largest fleet of ‘green on green’ AI spot spray robots to the market. The name Niqo represents our desire to succeed in this difficult robotics and agriculture ecosystem.”

Speaking on the development, Arha Padman, Chief Marketing Officer, Niqo Robotics, “Niqo unapologetically represents our innovative thinking and revolutionary spirit. This is reflected in all aspects of the brand’s identity, including the name, logo, typeface, colours, voice, and a strong customer-centric narrative. Niqo, for example, is a custom-designed typeface inspired by the postmodern style and data visualisation systems. Sharpness and subtle curves produce contrast and a strong image. It is a tribute to the intricate engineering that goes into the construction of our robots. This is the solid foundation we require as we begin our journey as a consumer brand.”
