Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures launched its second smartphone, the Yuphoria. The smartphone has been priced at Rs. 6,999 and will be exclusively available via Amazon India. The first flash sale is scheduled for May 28 for which registrations will begin sharp 5pm IST on Tuesday.
“Yuphoria is designed with the best technologies and will be available at a very affordable price. Affordability of this high quality smartphone will drive growth in rural markets,” Rahul Sharma Founder Yu Televentures told Rural Marketing on the sidelines of the launch function.
“We would love to penetrate deep into rural markets of the country and with internet available everywhere, people would go for the best product at a very affordable price. Moreover, we are combining the smartphone with two amazing and never-before useful tech gadgets HealthYu and YuFit,” he added.
Along with Yuphoria, the company also announced its foray into the connected devices segment with the launch of HealthYu and Yufi. Targeting the neo users who are constantly on the move and on the grid, “HealthYu, is a revolutionary pocket sized device that offers critical medical checkups making the device as one’s personal medical assistant,”Sharma claimed.
HealthYu is a pocket sized intuitive gadget which keeps track of the four vital body signs- Heart rate, Respiration rate, Blood Pressure and body temperature along with an ECG and blood oxygen saturation level
He said that the device has all FDA approvals and very soon the company will tie up with hospitals to it forward to provide preventive care to the people.
Yufit is a specially designed fitness companion that works exclusively with HealthyfiMe, epitomizing the smart integration of accessories and app to track the food records of the users and help them stay fit.
Sharma said, “With Yuphoria, we are breaking the flagship myth and introducing our first smartphone that has been designed and assembled in India. HealthYu and Yufit is a step towards our vision of introducing a connected devices ecosystem. These intelligent devices will really matter in the category.”
The company claimed that the screen to ratio on the Yuphoria is 67 percent. The Yuphoria runs Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. The dual-SIM based Yuphoria supports 4G and sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.2 lens and LED flash. It is backed by a 2230mAh battery, and weighs 143 grams.
