Just Ahead of Kumbh Mela 2019, a portion of an under construction building collapsed in Prayagraj. It was being build as a part of an upcoming heliport.

The significance of Kumbh Mela 2019 is well understood by the Uttar Pradesh authority. It is seen through the various preparations done by the government. They have left no stone unturned as the whole look of Prayagraj has been changed. It is visible on all the different verticals. If you are visiting Prayagraj during this time, you can see all the changes. But a mishap occurred recently. For Kumbh Mela 2019, a special heliport is being constructed near the area. Everything was going well until a tragedy struck. A portion of the under-construction building collapsed on 9th of January. Thankfully there was no fatality reported.

The preparations for Kumbh Mela 2019 are visible in every vertical. Special trains and ferries are organized for this holy festival. To facilitate even smoother operations, a building is being made which will act as a heliport. On Wednesday night, a portion of the building which was being built to be used as a heliport collapsed. It was reported that two laborers were trapped inside. Luckily, they were rescued later on.

A number of construction works have been taken on, keeping Kumbh Mela 2019 in mind. The authorities want it to make this grand event a one to remember for a long time. This heliport is a part of that construction work. The authorities were quick to respond. As soon as they came to know about it, they rushed to the site and rescued the workers. All of this just raises the question of safety concerns. What would have happened if something like this would have occurred after the festival had started.

Kumbh Mela 2019 is set to begin from 15th January in Prayagraj. More than 12 crore people are expected to attend this festival between 15th January and 4th March.
