To ease the traveling woes of pilgrims arriving for Kumbh Mela 2019, special trains and flights have been announced from various designated stations in Prayagraj district.
Kumbh Mela 2019 is not even 30 days away and the preparations are in full swing. The government is doing its bit by revamping the roads and enhancing the infrastructure. Ample of temporary homes have been constructed to shelter the pilgrims. Exclusive logo has been made to deepen the impact and show its importance. With footfall of almost 12 crore, Kumbh Mela 2019 is hogging the limelight and deserves every bit of it. Pilgrims from all over India will travel to the holy city of Prayagraj and to facilitate their traveling, special trains and flights have been announced to complete their wonderful experience.
Lets talk about the trains first. Railways has decided on running around 800 special trains across various stations of Prayagraj. These trains are apart from the regular trains as mentioned by the North Central Railway (NCR). In this regard, PRO NCR Amit Malviya said, “Six special trains will come to Allahabad from different railway zones of the country for pilgrims and tourists participating in the Kumbh Mela.” To ferry 5,000 Pravasi Bhartiyas from Prayagraj to New Delhi, four to five special trains will be operated. These people will be in the city to attend Kumbh Mela 2019 after they attend the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas at Varanasi.
This is not all. Branding of Kumbh Mela 2019 will be done in 1,400 coaches of special trains by vinyl wrapping. The aim of this is to inform about the Mela to the people all over the country. The coaches inside will have attractive and colorful images of Kumbh Mela along with the important structures of Parayagraj. Railways has also given the space for a great initiative - ‘Paint my City’. This initiative is taken to highlight the cultural diversity and heritage of Parayagraj and Uttar Pradesh, mythological background of Kumbh and religious, spiritual & scientific connotation of the Kumbh.
Coming to flights, Spicejet is leading the way for Kumbh Mela 2019. Thay have announced daily flights to be operated between Prayagraj and New Delhi for Kumbh Mela 2019. The flight will leave from New Delhi at 1:35 PM and reach Prayagraj at 2:30 PM. The return flight is at 2:50 PM. There will be a daily flight for the ease of commuters. According to Spicejet Chief Executive Officer Neil Mills, “ New flight from SpiceJet would be helpful for people planning to attend the Kumbh Mela being held at Allahabad”.
Ahead of Kumbh Mela 2019, Prayagraj will also get a new airport complex that was inaugurated by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on 15th December. The terminal can handle up to 300 people at once and completed just in time for the festival. This project was a challenge as it was completed in just 11 months.
